In the useless name generator category, there is the Work Nickname Generator, which tells you what your coworkers call you behind your back. In the useful name generator category, there is Nameboy, which will help you find an available name for your new site.
Update (2/16/05): it looks like the Work Nickname Generator no longer exists. Nameboy, on the other hand, is still around and as useful as ever.

I’m going to try to hunt down and blog the things that I’ve missed over the past couple of weeks. How else can I remember them, if I don’t put them here?
One bit is that I announced the BlogNet Meta-Project. The purpose of the project is to get blogs talking directly to readers, and to have the readership share the load so that the blogs can truly scale.

An interview on Winterspeak shows how Sleepycat software can make money on an open source product. They use the same model as Trolltech: release a programming library under a GPL-like license, and charge businesses that would like to redistribute the code with their proprietary products. It’s a good model for that type of software.

Yes, I realize that the current look of the site is a bit strange, but after a week and a half without a blog, I was dying to get the site back up. So, here it is… now powered by Drupal, which will allow me to do more cool things and will produce decent RSS.
So, thanks for sticking with me and coming back to read.
