Bill to Repeal Presidential Term Limits

April 14th, 2003

If this bill were to pass and be ratified by the states, Clinton could return for a third term. Intriguing, but it seems unlikely. This bill was introduced in January and it seems like you’re not going to get an Amendment through without at least some publicity.

This bill has actually been submitted to congress every year since 1977 by Jose Serranto with no support and has been referred to the House Judicial Committe every year (this one included). It is very unlikely that this will ever even make it to the House floor.

    Cool
I didn’t know the history of this bill. I’ve never known anyone personally who has said that they’re strongly opposed to presidential term limits, so it certainly would seem that there is nowhere near enough support to get an Amendment to pass.
