Rest in peace, Erica Knopper
September 24th, 2003
The Ann Arbor News has an article about Erica Knopper, who died on Monday. She had been in a coma for 10 days after being struck by a car. Surekha worked with her husband, Mark, and I had met her once or twice. The Knoppers are very nice people, and this is a real tragedy.
Update: Mark has sent the link for information on Erica Knopper’s Origami Peace Foundation, and Erica’s origami pictures.

Kevin, thanks for the entry on Erica. It is really nice to have so many friends in the community who support us. Erica’s origami web site is at http://bgp.nu/~mak/origami which might be interesting to your readers… Say hi to Surekha for me.
Thanks for the link, I added it to the main entry to make sure people spot it.
This is a tough thing to go through, and we’d be happy to help out in any way we can.
In the brief time that I spent with Mark and the short lunches I had in the company of his son, I could see what extaordinary people they are, and, though I never met Erica, I can only imagine how special she most certainly was. I had only heard of this terrible tragedy this past week from Paul Jenson, and my heart just simply breaks. I am so deeply saddened, so very saddened, and Mark, if you read this I will help you in any way I can, I will do anything you ask. I mean this most sincerely.
