I have to say this is all very exiting. It the last 24 hours I've discovered the existence of both Django and TurboGears. I was blown away twice! After watching the Ruby on Rails video a few weeks ago, I was seriously doubting my future with Python... not anymore ;-)

How does Turbogears compare to Subway? I think you should mention Subway on the TurboGears website and explain why that isn't enough and wher eyour differences in philosophy are.

I'm in a very similar situation to count0, having done a small project with Webware/Cheetah/SQLObject years ago - I was looking at Django, but found the configuration and all-custom framework a bit uncomfortable. The screencast was definitely a huge plus.

TurboGears looks like exactly what I wanted.

I agree that the video was a key piece of its 'excitement' factor. *And*, that I saw you using the tools I love to use, and the projects I love to use. We have been a Webware/Kid/SQLObject/scriptaculous shop, so to speak, but the combo of CherryPy/Kid/SQLObject/mochikit is really appealing. We're already building some small internal tools with it and it's a joy to work with!

I have been poking around with CP, SO and cheetah off and on for a while. I hadn't take the time to "glue" it all together. I get the feeling that there are several other people like me.

It looks like you have done a fine job of gluing things together. I think that is why so many people are checking what you have done out.

Would that make us all glue sniffers?

Kevin, I have to admit that your screencast was the tipping factor in choosing to learn more about TurboGears. I'd glanced at CherryPy and other frameworks and when I saw how quickly you were able to crank out a working application, I thought it was worth checking out.

As a total Python neophyte the documentation you've provided along with the strong Python documentation have really gone a long way to making me comfortable in this new environment.

Keep up the good work.

I really have to say that after further testing of TurboGears it's definalty a solid framework for developing and launching webapps quickly. Bravo, the popularity of this project busted through the ceiling and already has a following.

The community of python developers will contribute to this project in no time, the future of TurboGears is bright :)
