Julian Beever’s pavement drawings

March 10th, 2006

I think I’ve blogged about these before, but there are some that I don’t remember seeing previously. These things are just too cool to ignore: Julian Beever’s pavement drawings.

Thanks for linking to these. I have seen them before, but like you said, it looks like there are some new ones. The Batman and Robin one in this post is just amazing.

Freaking amazing - what kind of a mind does a person have to have to imagine and then bring to life these images? i am impressed beyond words - i am something of an artist, also and cannot fathom how he came to realize how to do this! WHY ISN’T THIS GUY ON TV????

Really great, and creative work from him. He however did not “come to realize how to do this”. This art style is called Anamorphism, and was first used by Leonardo Da Vinci.
