Python Web frameworks, Part 2: Web development with TurboGears and Python

by Kevin Dangoor

Ian Maurer’s Python Web frameworks, Part 2: Web development with TurboGears and Python is up on IBM DeveloperWorks now. I haven’t read his final copy yet, but I did get a chance to read a draft. With today’s featureful frameworks, there’s a lot more to write about than can fit into a single introductory article. I’ve been trying to see slightly different things covered in different places to give people a variety of views into TurboGears. (The 20 Minute Wiki I presented at EuroPython, for example, used widgets, SQLAlchemy and offered tagging, making it quite different from the “standard” 20 Minute Wiki.)

Thanks for getting this great article out there, Ian!

Super quick EuroPython wrapup…

I’m very tardy in writing anything on my blog, particular given how much I’ve had going on. I certainly would like to write more. I had a great time in Geneva, heard a number of interesting talks there, saw cool things at CERN and in town, and met many interesting and talented Python folks. I also got to speak quite a bit and took part in a fun web framework shootout. Reinout van Rees summarized my Working together on the web talk. I have a couple of corrections for that, but I’m going to be mostly in “radio silence” mode for the next couple of weeks because the book is coming due…
