TurboGears 1.0.2 released!

by Kevin Dangoor

Congrats to the TurboGears team for the new 1.0.2.2 release (see the full changelog). Though this release is a minor version number bump, it comes with a couple of nice, new features: Python 2.5 support and localizable errors messages in FormEncode. Special thanks for the Pyrex folks and Phillip Eby (author of RuleDispatch, among many other things) for making the Python 2.5 support possible.

There are, of course, a number of other changes and fixes from quite a few people (and the project has gained some new committers in the past few weeks). And kudos, of course, to Alberto for keeping the project moving forward.

May MichiPUG meeting moved to the 16th

by Kevin Dangoor

The Michigan Python Users Group usually meets on the first Thursday of the month. This month, we’ve got a change in plans.

Stephan Diehl will be visiting from Berlin and has offered to give a talk about PyPy and Stackless. To fit with his schedule, we’ve moved the MichiPUG meeting to Wednesday, May 16th at 7PM. And, to really mix things up, we’ll be holding the meeting at the Ann Arbor IT Zone.

I expect that we’ll have a good bit of discussion about PyPy and Stackless to follow Stephan’s talk.

Hope to see you there!
