Sorry, Kevin, but your OpenDNS description hides some facts which could be revealed with 5 minutes of googling around or reading the Wikipedia entry.
OpenDNS is not an RFC-compliant implementation of the DNS service, and is mostly usable for resolving URLs in your browser. You should not use it for anything else, like resolving mail-server names in your mail-transport-agent. In this sense it is not better than New.net and the like.
