Nick Bradbury, author of TopStyle and FeedDemon laments the cost of piracy to his business. There is some interesting discussion in the trackbacks, including some pointers as to why the figures Nick uses aren’t accurate.

Anyone who creates intellectual property today has to deal with the reality of the Internet. Distributing digital goods costs folks next to nothing, and cheesing people off with copy protection is not a good strategy for trying to prevent loss of sales. New models will have to grow up, but no one has yet identified a solid winner of a model.
